The colour promise
Silk reflects light instead of absorbing it. Photograph it under warm studio light and a madder red picks up orange; photograph it against white and every mid-tone drops a step. That is why online silk so often arrives browner, flatter or more yellow than the screen promised.
Every saree here is lit at 5000K and shot against an 18% grey card, then colour-corrected to the card rather than to taste. The card sits in the frame while we shoot and is cropped out before you see it.
The cost is that our photographs are less flattering than they could be. The promise is that the shade you choose is the shade that arrives — and if it is not, you have ten days to send it back and we pay the courier both ways.
One named person signs off that every frame on this site was shot to the card. It is a job, not a policy document.
Two lights, one cloth
Silk reflects light instead of absorbing it, which is why online silk so often lands browner, flatter or more yellow than the photo. We shoot every saree at 5000K against an 18% grey card and correct to the card, not to taste.
Drag the handle. Left is the frame we publish. Right is the same cloth under ordinary house light — the difference is what the grey card removes.
