Each dot is a point of cloth tied off by hand before dyeing. Open a fold and you can still see the pucker where the thread sat — a printed imitation lies flat.

Dry clean. Do not pull the cloth taut to open the ties; the pucker is the proof and it relaxes on its own.

Gaji silk in peach, tied and dyed in the Kachchh tradition, with a fine gold border.
