Katan is a pure silk made of twisted filaments, which is why the ground has a faint ribbed feel rather than a flat sheen. The brocade is woven in, not printed — the reverse of the pallu shows the floating threads.
Dry clean only. Fold with tissue between the zari layers so the brocade does not catch on the silk ground.
Katan silk in deep maroon, with gold zari butis across the body and a wide brocade border. Heavy enough for a reception and quiet enough to wear more than once.
